Hallett Cove
Hallett Cove is one of the more widely known geological sites in Australia. It is famous for an ancient glaciation (280 million years ago) which was discovered by Professor Ralph Tate from Adelaide University, in 1879. The site was declared a conservation park in 1976 due to the scientific and historic features that needed protection from destruction and urban development. The park is set over 50 hectares and is located 22 km south of Adelaide and 19 km from St Johns Grammar school along a segment of coast line of the Gulf of Saint Vincent.
